Mary Ursettie, Law of Attraction coach, will be teaching a series of brown-bag seminars (ok to bring your lunch) to explain the Law of Attraction and how to apply it to your life. Each week she’ll show you a new easy-to-use Law of Attraction tool. With these simple tools (this is not rocket science, folks!) you can begin to create a better life for yourself.
Topics include: how the Law of Attraction works, what it means to live in a vibrational universe, being a sender and receiver, it’s ok to have a bad day, how you create your reality and how to change it, getting clear about what you want, tools you can use to improve your relationships and make your life better every day.

San Jose Book Shop and Pet Pals AAT present a new free reading assistance program for children experiencing difficulty reading!
Gaining confidence in reading has never been more enjoyable - or cuddly. Children feel more comforable reading to a dog. Kids know that if they make a mistake, stumble over a word, or don't know the meaning of a word, the dog will neither laugh nor ciritcize. Therapy dogs listen to children completely unconditionally, leaving children to enjoy the experience of reading without fear. Therapy dogs can help children learn to read, and love to read. When children are relaxed, they are more willing to attempt more difficult reading levels, talk about the books they read, and absorb content more easily. All of the dogs in our program are the pets of the volunteer handlers. Petpals carefully screens each dog for temperament and health.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are Alive! with Beth Thomlinson
The discovery of the long-hidden Dead Sea Scrolls opens a window to view events of more than 2,000 years ago. But the Dead Sea Scrolls also reveal some powerful and universal truths about our beliefs and aspirations.
This lecture and interactive workshop addresses issues and events surrounding the writing of the scrolls, their concealment in the caves near Qumran, the discovery of the scrolls, and the significance of the excavated settlement at Qumran. Discussion of religious and political events of 2000 years ago will put the scrolls in context.
Join local scrolls expert Beth Thomlinson as she explores issues related to these scrolls found in the Judean Desert.
Topics include:
· Who wrote the scrolls?
· How were the scrolls discovered?
· They're over 2,000 years old??!! How can we be sure?
· How were the scrolls restored and maintained?
· What scientific disciplines have joined hands in this area?
· How are the scrolls related to the nearby ruins at Qumran?
· What do the scrolls say? Are they religious, or simply grocery lists?
· What biblical mysteries were solved by the scrolls?
· What do the contents of the scrolls reveal about ancient religious communities in Judea 2,000 years ago?
· Where do we go from here?

· Assemble scroll fragments the way the scholars did

Mamade Kadreebux just returned from a lecture tour in England, where he spoke at Oxford and other Universities about his search for history, hidden in the sands of Arabia.
"Journey into Ancient Arabia" is a photographic and prose poem of a journey into previously hidden areas of Arabia, not seen by humans for hundreds of years. The extraordinary photographs are mystical and inspirational.
Mamade Kadreebux is a native of Mauritius Island, and an explorer who uses a brightly burning curiosity as his guiding star, an adventurer in search of the human heart.
